Obituary of George Evans Kunkle
George Evans Kunkle, Born August 26, 1936 in York, Pa, to the late Carroll and Rose Bond, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2012 after a long illness with his loving daughter by his side.
George worked for CD Perry in construction for over 30 years. He was a member of Carpenters Local 370. He was also a member of American Legion Post 91 and The Fraternal Order of Eagles #2586.
He enjoyed playing cards with his family and friends. George liked all sports, especially NASCAR and his favorite driver, Matt Kenseth.
He is survived by his daughter: Debra Shaw and her husband Stan of Northumberland, NY, son, James Kunkle of Mechanicville, NY, his sister, Betty Pond, sister-in-law Marie Kunkle, Stepfather, James Harmon of Sykesville, MD, granddaughter, Krista Shaw and longtime friend Gabe Davis of Vermont. George was predeceased by his brother, Roy Kunkle
The family wishes to thank all of the wonderful people who helped in caring for George: Mechanicville Family Health, St. Peter's Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital, The Eddy and Hospice. Special thanks to all the doctors, nurses aides, speech and physical therapists and social workers.
