Obituary of Wayne A. Bolton

NORTH GREENBUSH – Wayne A. Bolton, 63, of North Greenbush, NY, passed away on February 18, 2023, at West Hills Hospital and Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. Wayne was born on March 5, 1959, at Stamford Community Hospital in Stamford, NY, to proud parents Melvin and Joyce Alice (Boughton) Bolton. He was raised in Stamford, NY, and later moved with his family to Worcester, NY. He was a graduate of Richmondville High School, after which he worked at Peterson Saw Mill to put himself through college. After graduating from both Albany Business College and Siena College, he then went on to work at the NYS Comptroller’s Office, retiring in 2018 with 30 years of service. Wayne had a lifelong love of travel, and enjoyed trips to many exotic locations, including Mexico and Europe. He most enjoyed his time in Hawaii, visiting there more than 20 times. He truly enjoyed the outdoors and had a special place in his heart for animals, most of all his beloved Hans. Wayne always enjoyed a good party with all of his friends and will be remembered for his dry sense of humor. Survivors include his life partner, William J. Strianese, Jr., his siblings and their spouses: Bonnie (Paul) Bolton and Larry (Lynn) Bolton, several nieces and nephews and many close friends. Wayne’s family and loved ones wish to sincerely thank the doctors and nurses at West Hills Hospital and Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA, for their wonderful care and compassion. Relatives and friends are invited to gather and visit with Wayne’s family on Saturday, March 25, 2023, from 9:30 AM until 11:30 AM in the Chapel of Simple Choices, Inc., 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street), Troy, NY 12180. A memorial service will follow the visitation in the funeral home at 11:30 AM. In accordance with Wayne’s wishes, he has been cremated and his ashes will be scattered in Waikiki, Hawaii.
