Obituary of Donald Clifford Flinton

Donald Clifford Flinton, 65, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on September 30, 2012. Don was born in Benedict Memorial Hospital of Ballston Spa, New York. He was predeceased by his mother, Ellen Saunders; step-father, Louis Saunders; father, Donald Flinton (Shirley Fuller). He was a member of the first graduating class of the new Saratoga Springs High School on West Avenue in 1966. He served in the US Navy on board the USS Salamonie from 1966-1968. In 2008, he retired from the Town of Milton where he worked as a foreman for the Highway Dept. Don is survived by his son, Donald J. Flinton (Sophie) and his daughter, Sarah Murabito (William); grandchildren, Donald Jordan and Justin Joseph Flinton and Sebastian Murabito;step-sisters, Sandy Nordlland and Donna Flinton; bestfriend/cousin, Joseph King; a niece, Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. In Lieu of traditional funeral services, Don has requested that his friends, family and those who wish to express sympathy or share memories, gather at the Henry Cornell American Legion Post 324, located at 23 Pleasant Street in Ballston Spa on Friday, October 5th, from 5-8pm.
