Obituary of Dean DePiazza

DOLGEVILLE – Dean DePiazza, 72, of Dolgeville, passed away peacefully on March 17, 2023, under hospice care at Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville. Born in Little Falls, NY on December 10, 1950, Dean was the son of the late Joseph, Sr. and Martha (Darling) DePiazza. Dean was raised by his parents in Upstate NY. He previously resided in Arizona for 20+ years (it was his 2nd home). He was a resident of Dolgeville, NY at the time of his passing. Mr. DePiazza was a graduate of OECS. He enjoyed NASCAR and collecting model trains. Survivors include his wife, Carolee DePiazza, of Dolgeville, whom he married on October 22, 1977, in Marcy, NY. In addition to his wife, Dean is survived by one daughter Felicia DePiazza (Michael Hurt), his "son" George C. Siver (Lisa), and multiple “furry kids” including Harley D. and many cats. Dean was the proud grandfather of: Zachary, Autumn, Ashton, Joelle. He is also survived by one brother, Stan Hayes (Eva). In addition to his parents, Dean was predeceased by one brother Wayne Hayes, one sister Marlea Eastwood, and wife JoEllen. The DePiazza Family wishes to acknowledge the caring staff and volunteer, Brian, of Mountain Valley Hospice for their compassion and care to Dean during his final days. Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. Private services will be held.
