I don't know how us kids never broke some serious bones, jumping out of Stanton's barn loft! Such fond childhood memories, playing in the creek, hanging out at Nanny's with you, Sharon, Allan, Darleen, Holly. Hugh, I'm sorry you met with this untimely end. Peace, my friend of old. Love Kimmy

Hugh was in the navy and would always take his leave and come stay with us. when he was there EVERYONE would come over to see him. He had a great sense of humor and seemed to attract everyone of all ages. He will be greatly missed more than words can say,and i will always have an empty spot in my heart for him.

I remember when no one could take me to preschool & Uncle Hugh was stuck taking me.(he didn't mind) I will never forget the day when I was walking out of the classroom and I slipped, and somehow fell down all the stairs and landed on my face. Poor Uncle Hugh had to deal with me screaming the whole ride home. I also will never forget all the stories I heard about Uncle Hugh eatting a bug off the garage, and when he tried to scare my sister and I on Halloween, but we knew it was him dressed up. He definitely was a joker! You will be missed Uncle Hugh!

I remember when I would keep talking about how he ate bugs off the wall so to get me to stop, he bought me two lovewuves!! Not one but two!! He was always very funny and I remember him always building his computer, buying classic cars, and playing video games. I remember trying to beat him in some video games! He was an amazing uncle and will be missed very much!

I am very sadden by the loss of Hugh,and his ill ness and evey thing he went thur and his family . Hugh had the best sense of humor there was so many things i can not right them all. Just before christmas i told him i would make a peanut butter pie and ask him if he could have a little piece and he told me no i want a big piece , and when his mom and i went to our class reunion 40 yrs i think he really thought we were going to be lost forever (he was hoping ) but we fooled him . I will miss him very much but he is with god ,his dad and my hubby and they will watch over him . my thoughts and prayers are with the family , be strong love you all Margie

I had the Great Honor of Meeting Hugh when we first started working at Owens Corning together. I just heard of his passing today and was shocked. Hugh was a Wonderful friend and I always looked forward to seeing him on shift. I still have many of his Drawings he did at work I often look at them and Laugh as many of them have his Humor in them. We both shared a love of Cars, Comics, and Sci-Fi Movies and Books.I will very much miss Hugh. May the Lord comfort his Family and Friends and Set a Place for Hugh in His Kingdom until we Meet Again.

I will always remember the loving jokes that Hugh would play on Al. From the christmas gifts, to the yearly birthday cards always signed from the #1 SON to the # 2 Son. They were both truly there for each other to the end. I send my love to the family at this time from me and All of my children. We were truly blessed to have met Hugh and have shared in his life. I will miss his shy smile and kind way of welcoming me into his home. I will miss you Hugh.

It's been more than a month now and I am still having a hard time accepting that he is gone. I can still hear his voice and his chuckle... I want to call him up and chat. My fondest memory of Hugh is of him at the steak house visiting us in SC. It wasn't his birthday but we told the waiter it was...Terah got upset thinking we were whispering about her so Hugh told us to stop messing with her. We just kept giggling and he kept glaring at us. A few minutes later a whole group of waiters and waitresses came over with a huge piece of candle lit cake and announced to the guests in the dining room that it was his birthday. They sang Happy Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday Hugh...clapping their hands and cheering -the look on his face was priceless. My husband and I couldn't even finish our meals; we were laughing so hard. When he got up to go to the bathroom people were telling him Happy Birthday. We never let him live it down. He was the best...one of a kind and I will never get over the loss of him. He was taken from us before we got to finish what we talked about. I wish I was smart enough to have found a way to cure him. He suffered so much.....I miss you Hugh and I always will.

I just want to thank you all for your compassion and kindness. Your condolences still comfort me...Time hasn't made our loss any less. I know Hugh lives on in our hearts but I still miss him and I wish he were here making more memories with us. Five more children have been added to our family since his passing and It hurts that they don't have the opportunity to spend even a moment with him. I like to believe they knew him before us and he helped them choose us as their family. My brother Albert and I appreciate your thoughtfulness. To his co-worker who shared about your mutual likes, drawings, funny jokes and laughter-spent all that time with him at work I send a special thanks to you.Your words have given me peace in knowing it was more than just a job. Thank you all!
