Obituary of Francis J. Thompson, Jr.

TROY – Francis J. “Frank” Thompson, Jr., 78, of Troy, passed away on May 28, 2023. The son of the late Francis J. Thompson, Sr. and Alice. P. (Burns) Thompson, Francis, or Frank, as he was known by family and friends, was born on July 5, 1944, in Troy, New York. He was a lifelong resident of Troy. His career spanned numerous venues from Orderly, Security Guard, taxi driver and courier services. Frank was also a US Navy Veteran, having served from 1963 to 1968 and received an honorable discharge. He was a member of the Veterans of Lansingburgh. Survivors include his niece, Jennifer A. Beyer (Walsh), as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his beloved wife of 44 years, the late Lorraine (Hoffman) Thompson, as well as one sister Alice M. Walsh (Thompson). The Thompson Family wishes to thank Samaritan Hospital, High Peaks Hospice and Slate Valley Nursing Center for their compassion and care. Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
