Obituary of Krista L. Cherry

SARATOGA SPRINGS - Krista L. Cherry, age 33, passed away suddenly at her home on Friday, June 9th, 2023 in Troy, NY. Krista attended Saratoga Springs schools and graduated from Adirondack Dental Assisting School. She also worked in classified advertising at the Saratogian Newspaper. Krista will always be remembered as a warm and giving person, beautifully artistic and full of joy and happiness when around the family she loved. She was also a talented writer, leaving behind poems with deep meaning from her gentle soul. She would often read these moving poems to her father and enclose them in cards to her mother, siblings and family. Our deep grief and sadness is somewhat softened in knowing that Krista is finally surrounded by light, at eternal peace, and in the arms of angels who now comfort and protect her. Krista is survived by her fiancé David Harris of Troy, NY, beloved mother, Wendy Fortino of Saratoga Springs, devoted father, Gregory Cherry of Venice, Florida, siblings Jesse, Halleigh and Madison of Saratoga Springs. Maternal grandmother Linnea Peters of Saratoga Springs and paternal Grandmother Kathy Totten of Venice, Florida. Loving Uncles Ted Zielinski (Mary Andrews), Christopher Zielinski of Saratoga Springs, and Wayne Cherry (Kathy) of Nokomis, Florida. Also survived by several cousins and Aunts. She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather Stan Zielinski and paternal grandfather Malcolm Cherry, both of Saratoga Springs. Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
