Obituary of Stella M. Chambers

Schenectady, New York Stella M. Chambers, 80 of Schenectady, NY, passed away on May 29, 2013 at Ellis Hospital after a short illness. Stella was born, February 26, 1933 in Oneonta, NY the daughter of the late Walter Sr. and Hazel (Bateman) Chambers. She attended Oneonta Schools. After moving to Schenectady she worked as a bartender, as well as Two Guy's Dept. Store and the YMCA, retiring in 2001. Stella is survived by her daughter Patricia (Lloyd) Schmidt of Schenectady, NY, three grandchildren: Farah (John) Simmons of Glenville, NY, Zebulon (Megumi) Schmidt of Scotia, NY and Heath Schmidt of Schenectady, NY., two great ganddaughters Jade and Rayne Simmons and a "new born" great grandson, Ari Zebulon Schmidt, with whom she spent many special moments. They will all hold special memories of their "Nana". Stella is survived by her brothers: Walter Jr. (Debbie) Chambers of Cape Cod, MA and John (Mary Jane) Chambers of Waddington, NY, and a sister Alice Hoenig of Schenectady, NY; and a sister-in-law, Donna Chambers of Oneonta, NY. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Stella was predeceased by her infant daughter Cathy and brothers: LeRoy, Harry and Claude Chambers and sister-in-law, Evelyn and two nephews, Brian and Richie Hill. There will be no formal funeral services held.
