Obituary of Richard J. Sniffen, Jr.

Richard J. Sniffen, Jr., 59, of Middleburgh died on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Albany Medical Center following a brief illness. Richard was born in Ossining, NY to Richard J. Sniffen, Sr. and Mary Jane Sciamatore. Richard grew up in Peekskill, NY and attended Walter Panas High School and Lakeland High School. Richard was a member of MEVAC and a supporter of Little League sports and the Boy Scouts. Richard is survived by his six beloved children; Richard III, Christopher (Rebecca), Jennifer, Matthew, Stephanie and Melissa and nine cherished grandchildren; Kyle, Alannah, Alexandria, Justin, Jacob, Rylan, Joseph, Taylar and Bryan. Richard is survived by his mother, Mary Jane Cuatt and his siblings; Ronald Sniffen, Jody DeRonda, Dawn DeRonda, William DeRonda, Dawn Lyles, Tammy Lopez, Steven Sniffen and Daniel Sniffen. Richard is also survived by his companion, Betty. Richard was predeceased by his father, Richard, Sr. and his brother Joseph DeRonda. Relatives and Friends are invited to a Memorial Mass for Richard that will be celebrated on Thursday, February 13 at 11AM at Our Lady of the Valley Roman Catholic Church, located at 111 Wells Ave., Middleburgh, NY 12122. A Calling Hour will be held one hour prior to the mass beginning at 10AM.
