Obituary of Mary Ellen Black
Mary Ellen Black of Slingerlands, New York died peacefully at home on June 1, from cancer. She was born in Little Falls, New York to the late Dean Baker and Helen Kalafus Baker, and is survived by her loving husband John, son Greg, and brother Raymond D. Baker.
Mary Ellen worked for over 30 years in the graphic arts and publishing industry, including 18 years for the former Delmar Publishing Company. She especially enjoyed traveling and the company of family, friends and loved ones -- Michelle DePace, Colleen Forlani, Steve Hancox, and Jay Martin, among others.
A small gathering for family and friends will be held in her honor at the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Avenue, Albany between 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 6.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to St. Peter’s Women’s Cancer Center, Community Hospice of Albany, or the American Cancer Society for uterine and ovarian cancer research.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Simple Choices, Inc. 1088 Western Ave., Albany, NY.
