William J. Cozzy
William J. Cozzy, 69 of Clarksville died on Tuesday June 10, 2014 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany following a brief illness. A son of the late William J. Cozzy and Georgianna Cupps Cozzy, William was born on July 5, 1944. As a young man, Bill served in the US Army and fought in Vietnam. He then became a mason of BAC Local 2 and was known to be a handyman. It was said that “Bill could fix anything” and was an extremely hard worker all his life. Bill was very kind and a true gentleman; he will be missed very much.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen Cozzy, along with five loving children: Christopher (LaLani) Cozzy of Texas, Lori Abeel of Mechanicville, NY, Stacey (Rodney) Bettes of Florida, Billie Jo (Jeff) Mason of Virginia, Sue Ann (Cameron) of Mendoza, Texas. Bill is also survived by a stepson, Michael Gilligan. He was the cherished grandfather to many grandchildren, who survive and he also leaves one sister and four brothers. Bill was most peaceful at his home and spent a lot of special time with his two dogs, Madison and Grayson who meant so much to him.
