Obituary of Michele J. Ferraro
WATERVLIET –
Michele “Shelly” Ferraro, 71, of Watervliet, NY, passed away on September 8, 2023 from Stage 4 Bladder Cancer and kidney failure. She is predeceased by her parents Frank and Eleanor LaFay and her husband, Nicholas Ferraro.
Michele was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. The world is forever grateful for knowing her, due to her infectious and caring nature.
She was born to Frank and Eleanor LaFay on July 2, 1952. After graduating from Watervliet High School, Michele then met the love of her life, Nicholas Ferraro. They then got married in 1969. Together, they had adopted their only son, Frank Ferraro.
She is survived by her son Frank (Nicolle) Ferraro. Grandmother to Morgan and Connor Ferraro. Sister Gale (Jimmy) Shea. Sister-in-law Nadine (James) Myers-Nokes and Annette Bolvin. Nieces Bridgette Shea, Samantha Shea and Anna Myers. Nephews Jimmy (Jennifer) Shea, Roarke, Siomon and Trevor Shea. Cousins Sharon (Karl) Caribucci, Michael (Carrie) Kelly and Kevin Kelly. She was very loved and will be missed terribly by all who knew her.
For her career, she worked as a waitress. She loved serving people at Seasons in Latham, NY and finally Menands Diner in Menands, NY. After Menards Diner, she retired from serving and had developed Fibromyalgia and Lupus. She had gone into remission from Lupus. She did not allow any illness to keep her down.
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
At Michele’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service to be held.
