Obituary of Daniel John Barnes
HUDSON –
Daniel John Barnes, 65, of Hudson, formerly of Chatham, passed away on November 1, 2023 at Albany Medical Center Hospital.
The son of the late Thomas F. and Anita I. (Iveson) Barnes, Daniel was born on November 17, 1957 in Albany, NY.
Daniel graduated from Glens Falls High School (Class of 1976). He was born in Albany, raised in Glens Falls and has also resided in Ghent, Chatham and lastly Hudson.
Mr. Barnes was a carpenter by trade. His employment history includes Dickelmans Lumber Yard, and also was owner of Handy Man Dans Carpentry.
Daniel enjoyed bowling, darts, playing horseshoes and wood working in his garage. He was an avid Football Fan (his favorite team was The New York Giants).
Daniel participated in the 2009 Beer Pong Champion of the GRage.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Pamela K. Barnes, whom he married on August 23, 1986 in Chatham, NY.
Also survived by his three sons and their spouses: James W. White (Samantha) Daniel K. Barnes (Chrystie) Devan J. Barnes (Dorothy "JoJo"), 9 grandchildren: Lindzi Fluchere, Scott Fluchere, Adriana Adamo, Kaiden Barnes, Rylan Barnes, James "Jay" White, Torryn Barnes, Dawson Barnes and Piper Barnes; and four brothers and their spouses: Don Barnes (Jean), Timothy Barnes (Jenine) Steve Leonard (Carmen) and Brian Leonard.
In addition to his parents, Daniel was predeceased in death by his grandmother, Jennie Iveson, and his brother Tommy Barnes.
The Barnes Family wishes to thank the Ghent Rehabilitation and Nursing Center for their compassion and care a special thank you to: Dorothy McGee "JoJo", Robin Jostlin, Lequia Wilson "Que", Racquel Smith, and Emily Myers for all of their loving support.
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
In accordance with Daniel's wishes there will be no viewing or formal funeral services.
