Obituary of Marion Lee Henry-Guzman
GLENS FALLS –
Marion Lee Henry-Guzman, 69, of Glens Falls, formerly of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2023.
The daughter of the late Gordon F. Henry and Dorothy J. (Peck) Henry, Marion was born on September 21, 1954 in Syracuse, NY. She was raised in and around Syracuse and graduated from Tully Senior High School in 1973.
Shortly after graduation she married and began a family.
Marion earned an accounting degree from Bryant & Stratton in 1989. She worked as senior accountant at Meals on Wheels in Syracuse until she suffered a devastating stroke in December 2002.
Those that shared anytime with Marion know that she shared a passion for five things: her grandkids, anything Disney, Pepsi, SkipBo and most importantly her cats.
She is survived by her daughters, Melissa (Jeff) Mazurak of Queensbury, NY and Stephanie (Rob) West of Redmond, OR, her loving grandchildren: Kaelee, Ian, Abigail and Teegan Jackson of Central Square, NY and Myles and MaryJane Mazurak of Queensbury, NY, her brother, William (Jill) Henry of Jamesville, NY and her sister Dorothy Bigness of Haines City, FL.
In addition to her parents, Marion was predeceased by her ex-husband Jose Guzman.
Marion spent the last two decades of her life needing support and love after the stroke. The family thanks the efforts of all of her aides, service coordinators and providers at Self-Direct in Syracuse, Opportunities North, Fort Hudson and finally The Washington Center in the Glens Falls area.
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. Marion’s Family has chosen to honor her memory in private.
