Obituary of Eleanor M. Reese
ALTAMONT –
Eleanor M. (Shutter) Reese, of Altamont, died November 30, 2023 at the age of 93, at home with her daughter Susan by her side.
Eleanor was born August 6, 1930 in Albany, NY, the daughter of the late Lillian and William Shutter. Mother of Joan L. Becker of Saranac, MI, Deborah L. Kirstein of Poughkeepsie, NY and Susan D. Tymchyn (Richard) of Altamont, NY.
Grandmother to Mitchell V. Seymour of Albany, NY.
Eleanor primarily worked for the NYS Department of Civil Service, retiring at the age of 70 after 40 plus years of service.
Eleanor's hobbies included a vegetable garden, a blueberry garden, having a horse (Benny) for her barn and especially mowing 3 of 6 acres of land.
Eleanor had a special relationship with her daughter Susan and son-in-law Rick and anytime, she needed repairs, Rick was there to help. Susan would cook, mow and in later years be her caretaker.
Also, a special thank you to Eleanor’s best friend Dorothy and the ladies who gave her care 24/7. She loved all of you.
In memory of Eleanor, donations to the Alzheimer's Association, would be appreciated.
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
Memorial Arrangements will be at the convenience of the family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, by invitation only.
