Obituary of William Peter Freitag
SOUTH GLENS FALLS –
William Peter Freitag, 70, of South Glens Falls, formerly of Albany, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2023.
Born on July 31, 1953 in Albany, William was the son of the late Carl E. and Margaret J. (Benson) Freitag.
He was raised in Albany where he attended local schools, Christian Brothers Academy (C.B.A.) and also Albany Junior College. Mr. Freitag resided in South Glens Falls at the time of his death.
William was an animal lover and will be warmly remembered as being open minded. He would do anything for anyone in need. He was a mentor to many. William could be hilariously inappropriate, sarcastic. He also enjoyed woodworking, nature walks, and was a history fanatic.
Survived by his children: Eric M. Freitag (Jessica) and Heather N. Freitag. Grandchildren: Jaxson T. Freitag and Elysia N. Freitag. William is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law: Kathleen Hojohn (Wayne) and two nephews: Rick Marshall and Christopher Hojohn.
In addition to his parents, William was predeceased by his brother, Richard Freitag.
William’s Family wishes to thank the nurses and medical staff at Albany Medical Center and Glens Falls Hospital.
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
Relatives and Friends are invited to call from 12-2PM on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at the West Glens Falls Fire House, 33 Luzerne Road, Queensbury, NY 12804, where a celebration of life will be held.
