Obituary of Gordon Curtis Booe

In loving memory of a remarkable man, Gordon Booe, who was born on November 4, 1964 in Odessa, Texas. He spent most of his childhood and all of his adult life in Oklahoma City, OK before moving to Albany, NY in April 2023 to live with his daughter and be closer to his children and grandchildren. Throughout his life, Gordon was the epitome of compassion, kindness, hard work, and resilience, all while maintaining a sense of humor, often described as both silly and goofy.
Gordon was known for his deep love for his family. He leaves behind his daughter, Jen Booe, his son, Jason Booe, his brother, John Booe, his niece, Amber Booe, his Aunt, Leta Georgiopoulos. His legacy will be cherished by his grandchildren, Luna Booe-Bollig and Brielle Booe as well as his son-in-law, Garrett Bollig, and daughter-in-law, Layla Booe. He will also be remembered by his ex-wife, Kelli Parks, mother to his two adult children. He is predeceased by his mother, Alice Booe and his father, Clarence JR Booe.
Throughout his life and career, Gordon had the privilege of working at Tinker Air Force Base, where he served nearly 30 years as an honorable civilian aircraft fuel specialist, a position he began in 1990. His commitment and dedication to the job were exemplary and a testament to his hardworking nature.
Gordon had a variety of interests and hobbies that showcased his diverse personality. He was a staunch supporter of OU Sooners and Dallas Cowboys. He was an avid reader, his favorite books included Jesus Calling and Emotions Anonymous Today. He had a soft spot for music, especially the sounds of Stevie Ray Vaughn, blues and classic rock.
Always known to be a food enthusiast, Gordon's favorite foods included Indian cuisine, omelettes, onion burgers, ice cream, and spicy nachos. He loved a glass of Diet coke. His love for games was evident in his fondness for playing Dominoes, Yahtzee and Uno when his children were young. He also enjoyed the occasional Sudoku puzzle. In high school he ran cross country and carried this love of running through adulthood, training for and running a 5K race with his son, Jason, in 2012. His travel interests took him to his favorite vacation spots in Taos and Santa Fe, NM. As a dog Dad, he loved and lost animal companions over the years including Terminator, Boo-Boo, Penny and Chipper.
Gordon loved spending time in local food spots like Himalaya's, Jimmy's Egg, Mama Veca, and Round Up Pizza. He also enjoyed going to the movie theater, reading, singing, golfing, traveling, watching football, and going out to eat with friends and family. His greatest joy came from helping others and sharing his wisdom and experiences.
One major passion in life for Gordon was self-help and helping others. He found community, strength and solace in the Emotions Anonymous (EA) 12 Step Program, for which he started many meetings and helped many newcomers to the program. Among his accomplishments, in 2019, Gordon had the opportunity to speak at a national EA conference on the topic of "Living in Love Instead of Fear." This was testament to his emotional intelligence and compassion. His legacy is one of kindness, self-love, and healing.
The best lesson he shared was, "People do the best they can with what they have." His favorite color was blue, reflecting his calm and composed personality. Gordon was a truly extraordinary person who touched the lives of many. His loss leaves a void that will be impossible to fill. May his soul rest in peace.
