Obituary of Martha J. McConchie
RAVENA –
Martha J. McConchie, 63, of Ravena, formerly of Galway, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2024 in the comfort of her own home.
The daughter of the late John and Helen (Kane) McConchie, Martha was born on November 28, 1960 in Saratoga Springs, New York and resided in Galway for most of her life.
Ms. McConchie retired from the Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scotia after 30 years of service, first as a CNA and then their medical secretary. She chose to retire to care of her grandchildren, whom she cherished. She loved her grandchildren so much, they were her whole world. As a humanitarian she also loved animals, especially her own. She enjoyed cooking and watching cooking shows.
Survivors include her two daughters and their spouses: Felecia Plante (Shawn Plante) and Andrea Swenson (Travis Swenson). Her cherished grandchildren: AJ Matthews (7) Samuel Matthews (6) TJ Swenson (6) and Oliver Plante (4).

Martha is also survived by siblings and in-laws: Judith Brush, Evie Lawyer, David McConchie (Patty McConchie), nieces: Katie Dethorne, Richelle Brush, Megan McConchie and nephews: Cliff Brooks, Todd Brooks, and John McConchie .
In addition to her parents, Martha was predeceased by: John Brooks (brother) Beatrice Bateholts (sister) Richard Brooks (brother) Freda David (sister) and Martin Brooks (brother).
Martha’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to: The Community Hospice of Albany County and Upstate Oncology Hematology, especially Dr. Theresa Viola, for all their compassion and care.
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. The McConchie Family has chosen to honor Martha’s memory and mourn their loss in private.
