Obituary of Charles R. Barnes
GREENWICH –
Charles R. “Charlie” Barnes, 60, a resident of Greenwich, passed away Friday, February 2, 2024, at Saratoga Hospital after a long illness. His family surrounded him during his final days.
He was born on June 7, 1963, in Glens Falls to the late Charles E. and Miza (Hoag) Barnes.
Charlie was a passionate hunter and angler. He loved the outdoors. He also enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving children Charles N. (Sarah) Barnes of Fort Edward, Bianca Barnes of Schuylerville, a stepson Gavin Male of Connecticut, Hunter Barnes of Greenwich, Harley Barnes of Greenwich, Eli Barnes of Greenwich. Grandchildren Cooper, Nelson, and Brantley, Ellanne and Brayson Mackey, and Walker Barnes. A brother Christopher Barnes of Argyle. A stepbrother George (Kelly) Liberty of Hudson Falls. As well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents his brother Walter “Duke” Barnes, and a stepsister Helen Billings predeceased him.
All that knew him will miss him.
The family would like to thank the ICU nurses, D2 nurses, and Palliative Care at Saratoga Hospital for the compassionate care that they not only provided to Charlie but also to the family during this difficult time. A special thank you to Steve Allen a true and sincere friend.

Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
A private celebration of Charlie’s life will be held at a later date at the family’s convenience.
