Obituary of Laura A. Bondi
NISKAYUNA –
Laura Bondi, 69, of Niskayuna, formerly of Burnt Hills, passed away unexpectedly on February 22, 2024 at Albany Medical Center Hospital following a brief illness.
The daughter of the late Francis and Sophie LeBlanc, Laura was born on August 25, 1954 in Cohoes.
Laura was raised in Cohoes and Halfmoon and had lived in Burnt Hills for 26 years, and lastly Niskayuna.
She will be warmly remembered as being family oriented, hardworking, kind and thoughtful, and also a strong-willed woman. Her personal interests included spending time with family every Sunday, being at the beach or poolside, reading quietly, baking, and she was an avid pickleball player. She also volunteered at Proctor’s Theater in Schenectady.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 40 years, Joseph “Joe” Bondi, whom she married on December 3, 1983. Her children: Kevin Bondi and Krista Bondi (Mike Craig). Laura recently celebrated becoming a grandmother for the first time, her grandson Carter is 10 months old. Laura was the sister of: Linda LeBlanc (Frank Gagliardi), Diane Chan (the late Elbert Chan) and Bill LeBlanc (Gail LeBlanc). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their children.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Robert "Bob" LeBlanc.
The Bondi Family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Ellis Medicine/Roswell Park Medical Oncology in both the chemotherapy and radiation departments, as well as Albany Medical Center’s neurological staff and the ICU doctors and nurses, and everyone who offered love and support during her first and second battle with cancer.
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. There will be no formal service at this time, however there will be a celebration of her life in the spring, at a time and date to be determined.
