Obituary of Francine M. Barrett
GLENS FALLS –
On Sunday, March 24, 2024, Palm Sunday, Francine M. Barrett, passed away after a long decline.
As a young married woman, she worked hard on the Bolster family farm. She returned to school as an adult and earned her RN degree from Maria College, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Fran took tremendous satisfaction in the pursuit of learning, viewing it as an end in and of itself.
Francine was always the one to care for others. She cared for two of her three spouses when they became seriously ill. Fran was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She was much beloved by several stepchildren and step-grandchildren, as well.
She died at home with her daughter and granddaughter at her bedside.
Francine is survived by daughter, Barbara Husek, nee Bolster, grandsons, Brendan Barrett, (Brynne Kirk) and William Bolster-Barrett, granddaughter, Bethany Barrett (Joseph Yannotti), great- granddaughters, Esther Barrett and Mabel Yannotti, and great-grandson, Isaac Kirk. She is also mourned by stepsons Richard (Sharon), David (Sandy), Stephen (Brenda), Dennis (Sandy), Donald (Elizabeth) Babson; and stepdaughters Anne (Ernie) Ellithorpe, and Monica, Juanita, and Barbara Babson. Several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren survive, as well.
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
A remembrance of Fran’s life will be held at the Meeting Place at Cherry Street, 30 Cherry Street, Glens Falls, NY 12081 on April 14, 2024, from 12:00-2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Adirondack Region Cat Adoption Center of the North Shore Animal League, 115 Maple St., Glens Falls, NY 12081.
