Obituary of Barbara J. Diefendorf
LATHAM –
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara J. Diefendorf of Latham. She entered into eternal rest early Saturday morning , April 20, 2024, following a long illness.
Barbara was the daughter of the late Raymond and Catherine (Kiltz) Relyea. A lifelong resident of the Capital Region, she was born in Niskayuna and graduated from Mohonasen High School.
Barbara worked for over 40 years at the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles, retiring as a SMVRI in the Office of Field Investigation. In her free time, Barbara enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens, traveling to Atlantic City and other casinos, relaxing on beaches from Maine to South Carolina but most of all was the time spent with her family and especially her grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Warren; her children Carrie and Warren (Erika); her grandchildren, Gregory, Gabriella, Dexter and Axel. She is also survived by her brothers, Robert and William. Barbara was predeceased by a son, Robert and her sisters, Eileen, Judy and Donna.
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. Private services for Barbara are to be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Barbara's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
