A Spirited Force of Love
Joanne May, a woman of fierce spirit and unwavering love, passed away on June 26, 2024. Though now surrounded by the quiet her absence creates, the joyful echoes of her laughter will forever resonate in the hearts of her surviving daughters. She was born May 27, 1939 in New York.
Joanne was more than a mother; she was a force of nature. Her love burned brightly, enveloping her family in its warmth. She fiercely championed her four daughters, and fostered a deep bond of sisterhood amongst them. Family was her cornerstone, and she never tired of reminding them of the importance of sticking together.
Her legacy extends far beyond her immediate family. Eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren will carry her memory in their hearts, forever grateful for the love and laughter she shared. Joanne possessed a zest for life that was infectious. She found solace and joy in her garden, nurturing life from the earth. Her love for owls, those wise and watchful creatures, reflected her own keen observations and quiet strength.
Joanne is also survived by two of her eight brothers and one of her sisters, a testament to the enduring strength of family that she so greatly valued. While her absence leaves a void, the love and lessons she imparted will continue to blossom in the hearts of all who knew her.
