Obituary of Ruth Ann Casab

LATHAM –

Ruth Ann Casab, 77, of Latham, formerly of Cohoes, entered into eternal life peacefully on Friday, September 20, 2024.

Daughter of the late Richard A. Coones and Margaret E. (Walsh) Coones, she was born on April 28, 1947 in Cohoes, New York, where she was raised and lived the majority of her life.

Ruth attended Rome State School in Rome, New York, where she would meet her future husband, George W. Casab. They were united in marriage on November 17, 1973 in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Albany, New York. Ruth and George would later welcome the birth of their son and only child, Matthew in 1988.

Ruth will be warmly remembered for her love of Country music, and oldies television sitcoms, some of these classic programs include: “I Love Lucy”, “Happy Days” and “Laverne & Shirley.” She also enjoyed day trips in the car or simply visiting Dunkin Donuts or Stewarts for her coffee. Ruth was a very proud and dedicated homemaker, wife and mother. She will be sorely missed by all the lives she has touched.

In addition to her cherished husband George and son Matthew, Ruth is also survived by numerous cousins throughout New York and Florida. In addition to her parents, Ruth now joins in the Kingdom of Heaven all her predeceased loved ones gone before her, including an infant brother, and her beloved brother Dickie,  as well as aunts, uncles and some cousins. Also surviving are Ruth’s friends and family through the Wildwood Programs.

Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
