Obituary of Daniel L. White
SCOTIA –
Daniel L. White, 67, of Scotia, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024 at the Grand at Guilderland, Town of Guilderland, NY.
A son of the late Earle G. and Patricia R. (Goodwin) White, he was born on September 26, 1957 in Hartford, Connecticut.
Mr. White has resided in Manchester, CT; Troy, NY; Schenectady, NY; and Scotia, NY since 1990. He received his Bachelor of Building Sciences in December 1980 from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, NY. He then worked in Schenectady, NY for Stracher-Roth Architects, General Electric, and several interior design firms as a draftsman and space planner before attaining his architectural license.
As a Registered Architect, he was often involved in designing for medical facilities. From 1986 until 2010 he was employed by Envision Architects in Albany, NY, becoming an Associate with the firm in 2004. He retired in 2010 due to disability.
In his youth, Daniel enjoyed long-distance bicycling and tennis, both in high school and college. He possessed a lifelong love of reading, creative writing, movies and puzzles. Daniel was an avid fan of football, especially the Kansas City Chiefs (even when their record was not good!).
He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of nearly 44 years, Victoria (Elam) White. They eloped while he was a senior at RPI, marrying on October 31, 1980.
He was the loving father of Rebecca E. White and son-in-law, Corey Sharp of Rotterdam, NY. Daniel is also survived by his brother Richard White (and sister-in-law Joanne) of Middletown, CT.
In addition to his parents, Daniel was predeceased by his sister, Deanna (née White) (Schmitt) Peer.
Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no services. Private interment will take place at the convenience of the family in Park Cemetery, Scotia, NY.
