Obituary of Candace J. Lucas

COHOES –
 
Candace J. Lucas, 70, of Cohoes, NY, formerly of Croton-on-Hudson, NY, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home on December 20, 2024.
 
She was born on April 21, 1954 in Garfield Heights, OH, a daughter of the late Carl and Dolores (Zelasko) Gambino. Candace was raised in Willoughby, OH and Croton-on-Hudson, NY and has since resided in Putnam Valley, NY, and Naples, FL. She was employed in the banking industry and also worked as a travel agent. Candace would also volunteer for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and contribute in any way possible.  She was a devoted dog lover whose gentle spirit extended to every four-legged friend she encountered.
 
Beloved wife of 50 years to William Lucas, whom she married on May 4, 1974 in Cortlandt Manor (Colonial Terrace). Devoted mother to her children: Cassie Lucas (Michael Fiacco) and Dustin Lucas (Jaclyn Coletta). Cherished grandmother of:  Briella Fiacco, Luca Fiacco, Michael Fiacco, Cameron Lucas and Carter Lucas. Dearest sister of: Karen Steinmann and Carla Schartner, as well as Aunt to many loved nieces and nephews.
 
In addition to her parents, Candace was predeceased in death by her siblings: Sterling Gambino, Rochelle Gambino and Royce Gambino.
 
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation with calling hours from 4-8PM being held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand Street, Croton-On-Hudson, NY 10520
 
In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial Contributions in Candace’s memory to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society would be greatly appreciated.
