Obituary of Joseph A. Papa
Joseph A. Papa, 86, of Albany and formerly of Delmar, died Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Stratton VA Medical Center.
He was the son of the late Joseph C. and Mary (Motta) Papa. Educated at Christian Brothers Academy and Siena College, he proudly served as a combat Marine during the Korean War.
He was a founding member of the Albany County Pistol Club, an avid reader, a life-long student of history, especially Civil War and WWII, and also enjoyed bowling and boating.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Emma (Miller) Papa; his beloved children; daughter, Elizabeth and son-in-law, David Reusswig; sons, Mark Papa and Matthew Papa; the lights of his life, granddaughters Emily and Sophie Reusswig; and many other relatives.
He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Charles & Dorothy Papa and a sister.
A private service will be held at a later date. Interment with military honors will take place at the Gerald B. H. Solomon - Saratoga National Cemetery.
