Obituary of Sean Gerald Wakeley

Sean Wakeley was born at St. Peter's Hospital on February 17, 1970 to Gail Sherman who predeceased him, and Gerald Edward Wakeley. He was a sweet, active, clever child who captured everyones' hearts. He lived in New York, Arizona and Texas, and then became a citizen of the world. He moved to Madrid and later Barcelona to teach English, and in 2007 he moved to Istanbul, Turkey to continue his career. It was this move that changed his life. There he met a wonderful woman from a wonderful family. In 2008 he married Muazzez Huseinoğlu, the love of his life. In 2012 Sean and Muazzez were blessed with a son, Ulustan Edward Wakeley, whom they adored. Sean was a big man, with a bigger heart and a huge smile. He had a gentle kindness with children and treated all people of the world with generosity and respect. Everywhere he lived in his life, people were touched by his spirit, his openness and his ability to bring happiness to the lives of others. His spirit will live on in all who knew him. The world has suffered a great loss with his passing on July 20, 2016. He leaves behind his wife Muazzez and son Ulustan, his father, Gerald Wakeley, step mother Barbara Wakeley, his two step sisters, Julie and Joy and their families, his aunt, Carol Wakeley and his uncle Stan Mudzinski, his aunts Dawn Charles and Joanne Chilcoat, and their children, his step father Dennis Fedor and two half brothers, Scott and Kevin. Of special note are his wonderful friends from his days in Turkey who have truly become family as well.
