McKinley Jones was one of the earliest and most effective community activists in the Albany area. While he was a strong advocate for improving the life of minorities , he was a true champion of social justice for all people. McKinley often raised his voice in favor of people of all races, all genders, and all backgrounds and their common struggles against poverty, discrimination,lack of social mobility , the scourge of drugs in our communities and political indifference. McKinley's life is a model of how civil discourse and mutual respect for each other can solve many of the great social problems confronting this nation.

There are no words to express the loss we feel. McKinley was an anchor for all he met, He was best friend of my husband, Thomas J. I send prayers/condolences to the Jones family. My late mother Virginia"Virgie" Jackson(Stevens) and my late aunt Catherine Stevens were close friends of Buster and his sisters of which they all grew up together in Coeymans. I have fond memories of the love and friendship of our two families so now Buster can reunite with many of them in Heaven.
