So sorry to hear of Doug's passing. I've known Doug since high school, and we shared many good times in our younger years. He even managed the band in which I played guitar back in 1968. He knew music and could spot talent and entered our band into a national battle of the bands against our better judgement, and, with no surprise to him, we won. He also was one of the groomsmen in our wedding.
In recent years, he would call me occasionally to talk about various music or musicians, and just to keep in touch. When he called me from the hospital a few weeks ago telling me he had a heart attack, I was hoping he would pull through. I'll miss his phone calls and conversations, but will cherish the memories.
We hope to attend his memorial service on February 4th.
My condolences to all his surviving family and friends.

I am a stranger to you but I knew your aunt as a parishoner of First Church in Albany and also knew your Father. He was my principal at Youngsville back in the late 1940's.
Death is so final, but as a patient under Hospice care, I am sure that your family is glad for his sake that he has finally met his peace.
My sympathy is with you and your family.
