Dear Ted, Michael, Matthew, Helen, Maryann and all extended family,
My heart was broken when I heard of Luba's passing. We grew up together in Yonkers, and when I married and moved to upstate NY we stayed close. Unfortunately as life got more complicated our lives went in separate directions. We saw each other occasionally at some Ukrainian function or at Easter time in church. After reading her obit and viewing all her photography pictures on line, I realized what a talented, gentle soul she was. Her love of hummingbirds, travel, gardening, angels and family mirrors my own life. May she now watch over her beloved family and I will light a candle for her in St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church. I will also be on the lookout for any hummingbirds.
Love always,
Irene Skalij and family

I will remember Luba for her warm heart, generosity, sense of humor, and for being a wonderful mom to three great men. Our family is especially grateful to Luba for looking out for my mom and being a true friend to her. Ted, Michael, and Matt, I am so very sorry for your loss. I know how much you love your mom, and honestly, I don't think there are words that could express the loss you must be feeling. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Ann

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Luba, in the '70s helped teach my Girl Scouts Pysanky. Many years later we rediscovered each other at the Historic Albany Foundation's "Built" where I purchased 2 of her wonderful photographs which hang in my house. I was drawn to her work for the few years she exhibited. please accept my heartfelt sympathy.

Luba was such a gentle, wonderful person, dedicated in everything she undertook, a creative photographer, a true artist, and an inspiration to all around her. We will dearly miss her presence among us, but her memory and the example she set will continue to guide, inspire and encourage all who knew her to achieve our own true potential.
My deepest condolences to her family and loved ones.

I pray Luba's transition to the next stage was peaceful and painless.
Luba's "STAR" was still in its ascendancy; she still had so much more to give/enjoy.
I am super impressed with the continuous care and comfort that our 3 sons and her sister Helen afforded Luba during this heartbreaking time; also super glad they were all there during her transition.
Luba raised 3 outstanding sons who loved (and will always love) her wholeheartedly. The same can be said about her 2 devoted sisters and their families. Luba also had legions of friends and acquaintances who will long remember her friendship and assistance.
LUBA- THANK YOU FOR THE MEMORIES!!!!!

Our deepest prayers and thoughts are with Luba's loved ones right now. We feel priviledged to have had the chance to know her and spend time with her and wish dearly that we would have had more opportunities to do so. One only has to know her children and her nieces and nephews to know what a loving presence Luba was and will continue to be in their lives. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.

To Luba's family: I am so sorry about Luba's passing. She was such a great lady and a hell of a lot of fun to be with. I wish I had known her longer. She has not been there very long but you can bet that she has found a way to make some prints on the clouds.
