Obituary of John M. Pepper
Troy, NY
John Melvin Pepper, 61, passed away on January 5, 2019, while in hospice care at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, NY, after a prolonged illness.
John was preceded in death by his parents: George F. and Dorothy F. Pepper and his older brother, George F. Pepper, Jr.
John was very proud that he served as the first president of Barnwell Nursing Home’s Resident Counsel. John also served as a minister of marriage.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Joan Benoit Pepper of Troy, NY a younger brother, James A. Pepper and three sisters: Elizabeth “Betsy” Shreckengast, Dorothy “Dottie” Moyer and Patricia “Pepper” Jaffray, all of Delaware. He was the brother-in-law of Ernest and Beverly Benoit of East Greenbush, NY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews from: NY, TN, DE, PA, MD and England.
