Obituary of Elaine Margaret Brown

Elaine Margaret Newton Brown, 57 passed away on Friday evening, September 27, 2019 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital after a long illness.  Born in Albany, NY on February 17, 1962, Elaine was the daughter of Guy T. Newton and the late Margaret Ann Newton.  Elaine had formerly resided in Rensselaer, her family home, then raising her family in Schoharie and most recently living for a brief time in Glenville.

Elaine graduated from Rensselaer High School and also attended Hudson Valley Community College and Russell Sage Albany.  She was employed for 30+ years for the State of New York working as a senior clerk in New York State’s Division of Professional Licensing in Albany, NY.

Elaine will be remembered as an extremely proud and loving mother who kept her family upper-most in her thoughts.  She shared a great fondness for animals, especially horses and dogs.  Everyone who met Elaine loved her.  She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Elaine leaves behind to mourn her loss, her devoted husband of 30 years, Bobby B. Brown and her four loving children:  Kalen Margaret Casey of Portsmouth, VA, Chelsea Elizabeth Brown, Kylebear Turton Brown, Connor Jay Brown of Schoharie, NY and Armani Marable of Schenectady, NY.  She is also survived by her siblings: Karen A. Newton-Feriola (Andrew) of Port St. Lucie, FL and Todd Edward Newton of Stony Creek, NY as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A family celebration of life is being held Friday, October 4, 2019 from 4pm-8pm at The Gerald O'Neil Post, 836 Broadway, Rensselaer NY 12144.
