Obituary of James Alfred Gray

TROY- James "Jim" Gray, 70, of Troy, a lifelong resident, passed away on January 28, 2022. Jim was born in Troy on December 24, 1951 he was the son of the late Alfred William Gray and Mary Evelyn (Petersen) Gray. Jim was a graduate of Siena College. He worked for NYS Office of Mental Health in accounting, and worked part time for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in environmental services. He was a lifelong member of the former St. Peter's Church in Troy and later at Our Lady of Victory Parish in Troy. Mr. Gray served as a Troy City Councilman in the early 2000's He is survived by wife, Rachel Ann (Rothstein) Gray, his brother Charles Gray (Jan Gray), sister Patricia Gray (Joseph Liotta), and many beloved nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Jim was predeceased by a sister June Curran. Due to the pandemic, memorial services will not be planned at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted to: Simple Choices, Inc.
