Obituary of Erica S. Romanowski

SELKIRK - Always in Our Hearts. Erica S. Romanowski was born Erica Suzanne McQuillen to Mona (Guay) McQuillen and the late Robert F. McQuillen on July 30, 1972. Friday, September 9, 2022, Jesus carried Erica home to our Heavenly Father on what would have been Mona and Bob’s 55th wedding anniversary. Erica is survived by her mom, Mona McQuillen, her two amazing daughters who she is so extremely proud of, Kayla Simpson (Connor), Jenna Romanowski, her sister Marlies McQuillen Peters (Bryan) and niece Aleah Peters. Erica was predeceased by her dad, Robert F. McQuillen in 2003. Erica was an inspiration to all whose lives she touched, and we will never know how many lives that is or to what extent she touched those lives. She always had love in her heart despite the many hardships and struggles and health issues she had during her short life. Erica made a difference in the lives of every person she encountered. All the nurses, doctors, students, medical personnel, other sick people, people who maybe thought they could not go any further and then met Erica, were lifted by her smile, perseverance, witty sense of humor. Undoubtedly on their dark days, she gave them hope they then passed on to someone else. Erica was so strong and no matter what she didn’t complain. Seeing her persevere under the circumstances helped many, many people go on when they thought they could not. She will be remembered for her love for and inspiration to her family and friends and for her witty sense of humor. Even when she knew the end was near, she was reaching out to everyone she loved to be sure we were OK with her leaving when it was, she who needed taking care of. Erica has her wings, and she is now pain free and resting peacefully. Please help us honor her memory by celebrating her life and knowing that no matter how dark things are for you at any point in your life, you are still a shining star making someone else’s day brighter and life richer as Erica did for so many no matter what her challenges.
