Brother Jeff,
I was indeed surprised and also saddened when I received your call several months ago, indicating that you were ill and did not expect to live much longer, but, that before you left us you just wanted me to know that I will always be YOUR Pastor. Those were some very touching and unexpected words, considering the fact that you have had some pretty incredible Men of God in your life. Thank you so much for that! And thank you for all the memories that you recalled and shared, of how I "compelled" you sometimes to do the things that you very deeply wanted to do! It was all indeed an epiphany that "came back to life" as you spoke of those memories with such clarity, even to the very smallest of details... the many private memories that only a Pastor and a saint of God can know, some things never to be shared, because of the gracious blood of Jesus who washes and cleanses us all from our failures, our mistakes, and all of our past in order to take us into a NEW and a LIVING WAY! Thank God, we are all FREE from that burden... and I thank you, my Brother, for checking out so graciously as you did, before your mortal body took on immortality! No more pain, no more heartache, no more suffering, no more regrets... You are home now. Thank you for saying "good-bye" to me, before you left me behind. Save a place for me, when I get there, so we can talk some more!
