Obituary of Andrew Joseph Palombo, Sr.

SCHENECTADY – Andrew J. Palombo, Sr., 37, of Schenectady, entered into rest on December 18, 2022, in the comfort of his own home surrounded by love. The son of Arthur and Donna Palombo, Andrew was born on April 25, 1985, in Niskayuna, New York. Andrew, or Andy, as he was affectionately known by his family and friends, was a lifelong resident of Schenectady and attended Schenectady High School. Andy was a long-time employee of Tomra of New York. Andy loved spending time with his family, especially his children. He enjoyed a good summer cookout and time by the pool. Andy enjoyed summer camp outs in the backyard, lighting a good fire and making s’mores with the kiddos. You could find Andy by the water kayaking and fishing, he enjoyed fishing so much he was always planning the next fishing adventure and finding a new body of water. Andy looked forward to fantasy football and baseball drafts with his friends. Andy was a die-hard NY Yankees and Dallas Cowboys fan. In addition to his parents, survivors include his childhood sweetheart and wife, Cassandra Palombo, whom he married on August 30, 2007, in Schenectady. Together they had 5 beautiful children: Julieanna Palombo (called “Jules” by her daddy) Johanna Palombo, Gianna Palombo, Andrew Palombo Jr. (better known as “Bubbies”) and Benjamin Palombo (better known as “BenBen”). Andy was the dear brother of Aaron Palombo (Sara) and Anthony Logan, brother and best friend of Michael Mitchell, and lifelong friend of William Martel and Johao Romero. Andy also leaves behind nieces and a nephew, several aunts and an uncle. Andy was predeceased by his Gramma Hunt and Uncle Frank. The Palombo Family wishes to acknowledge and thank: The Community Hospice of the Capital Region with a special thanks to his nurse Bill. Thank you to the team of doctors at NYOH including Dr. Kambam, Dr. Shaffer and Dr. Stark. Special thanks to the chemotherapy infusion nurses for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
