Obituary of Debra Ann Crawford

STEPHENTOWN – Debra Ann Crawford, 51, was born on May 12, 1971, in Buffalo, and most recently resided in Stephentown. She passed away recently on December 17, 2022. Debra attended Averill Park High School for the first two years of high school before moving with her family to Ithaca, N.Y., where she graduated in 1989 from Ithaca High School. She then earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1994. Debra worked for many years in the Washington, D.C. area as an intern in the U.S. Congress and with a number of nonprofit organizations before spending time in South Carolina and then finally relocating to Stephentown. Debra was beloved by her entire family and brought laughter and joy to every gathering. She is survived by her father, Brian Crawford, and stepmom, Louise Grossner Crawford; two sisters, Heather (David) Safford and Andrea Crawford; her nieces, Morgan Avallone and Adrian Safford; and her nephew, Connor Avallone. She was predeceased by her mother, Catherine Mary (Cooper) Crawford. Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc. The family will mourn in private.
