Nick was such a good friend and a great guy, we had been friends since the first day of kindergarten at Greene Ave Elementary School in 1965. We grew up next door to each other on Hamilton St. in Sayville and had so much fun together- clamming, deer hunting, motorcycling, building boats, and working at Steins Boatyard around the corner from our houses, especially during hurricanes!
My wife and kids love to hear the stories of Nick's first dog, Christopher the huge St. Bernard, and Vince, the attack chicken that rode on Christophers back around the yard...
The first picture is Nick and me on one of those upstate bowhunting trips (we never got a deer or even took a shot, but had lots of guy fun) and the second photo is on my 9th birthday, that's Nick on the left. I'm so thankful that we were able to have a nice conversation last Christmas time. Rest in Peace buddy, you will be missed.
