Obituary of Nicholas H. Gregory

MELROSE –

Nicholas H. Gregory, 64, of Melrose, passed away on March 12, 2024 at Albany Medical Center having battled illness most of his adult life.

The son of the late Nicholas and Barbara Gregory, Nick was born on January 20, 1960 in Brooklyn.

He was raised in Long Island and received his education from R.P.I. in Troy.

Mr. Gregory was self-employed. He was the owner and operator of Merchant Data Solutions, as well as Northern Real Estate. He was a member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity and also the Ravena Coeymans Yacht Club. Nick was a lifelong avid boater, starting as a teenager on Long Island Sound running a clam boat up to his last 15 years as an active member of the Yacht Club in Ravena.

Also an avid hunter and animal lover, Nick’s multiple rescues (including dogs and cats) speak volumes about his love of life. From his dry wit, love of practical jokes and his ability to “see the issue and get to the point.”

Nick is missed by so many of us who were so close to him.

Survivors include his life partner, Rhonda Abbott-Rupert, his step-children: Christian Rupert and Addison Rupert, and his sisters Ann E. Giordano and Rena K. Meigel. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and a host of friends and colleagues also survive.

Cremation has taken place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.

Relatives and Friends are invited to call from 4-6 PM on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Simple Choices, Inc., 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street) Troy, NY 12180. A Memorial Service will commence at 6 o’clock in the funeral home following the calling hours. All are welcomed.
