Obituary of Robert F. Champine, Sr.

CLIFTON PARK- Robert F. Champine, Sr., 83, of Clifton Park, passed away on February 18, 2022. He was the son of Kathleen and Floyd Champine. He leaves behind his wife Ellen, son Robert F. Jr., sister Mary Lou (David) Snyder, sister-in-law Mildred (Lenny) Steele, a niece, and two grandnieces, dear friends Pete Lounsbery and John Aidala. He also leaves his beloved cat, Goldie. Bob grew up in Colonie, attended Vincentian Institute, and graduated from Siena College. He worked for Liberty Mutual as a claims adjuster for years before coming to the NYS Attorney General's Office. He worked as a supervising investigator before taking early retirement in 1995. Both he and Ellen traveled the world, taking two to three trips a year. He really enjoyed touring. He also hosted a monthly luncheon group of 1956 graduates for years. Bob was a loving, warm and generous man who loved his family, friends, pets, home, hunting and fishing with his son and Pete. It was his request not to have any memorial services. Cremation took place through the care of Simple Choices, Inc.
